I love making this as a snack when we have guests over. Especially kids! It’s so easy and quick to throw together. Slice up some veggies, toss some sauce on the pitas, place in the oven and done! I like cutting them into fours so they are small and easy to grab. They make the perfect appetizer for any occasion!
There’s really no specific recipe for this. The amount of pitas you want to make will determine how much veggies and sauce you will need. As long as you have pitas, tomato sauce and veggies of your choice — then you’re good to go.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Place pita bread on a baking sheet and top with equal amounts of sauce, tomato slices, red onion, mushrooms and bell pepper. (I added a vegan shredded cheese on a few of mine!)
3. Place in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until toppings are hot and pita bread is crispy.
4. Remove from the oven, slice and serve.
